Cocoa Beach tornado confirmed, weather guys say

tornadohands
This couple was one of eight families affected by the F0 tornado that hit the Windrush and Diplomat condos in Cocoa Beach.

The wind that hit Cocoa Beach yesterday was a teeny-tiny F0 tornado, News 13 said.

Hmm. It makes me think: If a storm with a brief bout of 70-80 mph winds can rip off the roof of a condo, what would a hurricane with prolonged 100 mph winds do?

If we ever get a hurricane here again, it could be an interesting time.

News 13 is a 24-hour news channel out of Orlando. I was watching it yesterday when I learned about the tornado, so that's why I'm sticking with it as a source. No disrespect to FLORIDA TODAY.

Feb. 12, 2008 - Storms moved across Florida, and there was a lot of wind in Cocoa Beach. It could have been a tornado. But one thing is for sure: It rained a lot.
